General Studies Degree
General Studies (B.S. or B.A.)
(31-49 credits)
Description
The University offers a bachelor's degree in general studies designed for students who have already earned 75 or more college credits and now wish to complete a degree.
Students eligible for admission to the General Studies Major must have completed at least 75 credits with a cumulative grade point average of no less than 2.0 in all prior undergraduate coursework. Students will develop a program of study in conjunction with a General Studies advisor which will be approved by the General Studies Council.
Students may select one of the 3 options listed below.
OPTION 1
- Complete ISU Foundational Studies requirements.
- Complete an ISU minor or a minor equivalent.
- Complete 21 credits of Upper Division Integrative Electives.
- Complete GS 499 Capstone Project.
OPTION 2
- Complete ISU Foundational Studies requirements.
- Complete two ISU minors.
- Complete GS 499 Capstone Project.
OPTION 3
- Complete ISU Foundational Studies requirements.
- Complete an ISU minor.
- Complete a minor equivalent.
- Complete GS 499 Capstone Project.
Keep in mind that the minimum requirements for a degree also include 120 earned credits and 45 credits at the 300-400 level.
