What are we looking for?
We are looking for motivated leaders who would like to help mentor and educate first-year and upper-class students as they transition to college and continue their journey towards graduation. We create staff teams that represent the diverse communities within our residential areas, so individuals of all different backgrounds and personalities are encouraged to apply. Ultimately, we are looking for students who like to help others and want to have a meaningful impact on fellow students' lives.
What Student Staff Positions are Available?
Resident Assistant (RA): The primary mission of the RA is to create a welcoming and inclusive community for all residents living building community. Being an RA involves building personal connections, getting to know your community and being there for them as a resource. The RA is also responsible for supporting department curriculum initiative, mediating conflicts, supporting building safety, working the front desk, serving on the student staff on-call rotation, assisting with building administrative tasks and duties, along with ongoing training, and more!
Social Justice Educator (SJE): The mission of the Social Justice Educator is to create educational opportunities in partnership with our residential community that foster self-exploration, facilitate conversations across difference and support actions that create social change on campus. The position requires a strong commitment to the principles of and action for social justice. The SJE is responsible for community development, supporting and developing initiatives for inclusive excellence, helping mediate conflicts over differences, working the front desk, serving on the student staff on-call rotation, assisting with building administrative tasks and duties, along with ongoing training, and more!
Academic Success Educator (ASE): The mission of the Academic Success Educator is to help facilitate the academic success of a community by working in partnership with the other staff and with the community itself. The ASE is responsible for creating academic initiatives, developing community of academic support, and serving as an academic resource to students. They will also have responsibilities working the front desk, serving on the student staff on-call rotation, assisting with building administrative tasks and duties, along with ongoing training, and more!

Requirements
Students applying for student staff positions must meet the following requirements:
- Have already successfully completed the SAHE 317 class, or enroll in the SAHE 317 class during the Fall 2019 semester. New hires must successfully pass the class before starting the position.
- 2.5 Cumulative and Semester GPA
- Be in good conduct standing with the university.
